Top picks at a glance

Ranked in order. Each row names what the pick is best for, with no score attached.

  • The cheapest start is not always the cheapest month. Wishify free allows up to 100 wishlist items per month for the store, while Wishlist Hero free allows up to 500 wishlist additions per month, so a growing store can hit the Wishify cap fast (Source: Wishify listing) (Source: Wishlist Hero listing).
  • Caps work in different ways. Swym counts monthly wishlist actions plus a separate lifetime stored items limit, and wishlist functions pause if you pass the monthly limit (Source: Wishlist Plus Pricing and Features, Swym Help Center).
  • Guest saving is a plan question. Wishify puts guest wishlist on its Professional plan at $5.99 per month, not on free, while Smart Wishlist builds its whole pitch around one click saving without login on a single $4.99 per month plan (Source: Wishify listing) (Source: Smart Wishlist listing).
  • Multiple lists and variant saving help gift and apparel stores most. Wishlist Guru saves its multi wishlist and variant support for Premium at $19.99 per month, per its listing (Source: Wishlist Guru listing).
  • A good wishlist protects AOV and sell through. Shoppers who save today and buy on payday keep full price demand visible, instead of training everyone to wait for a discount code.

How we choose

How we choose

We reviewed vendor pricing pages, vendor help docs, and Shopify App Store listings written by the vendors, and we compared only apps whose main job is a wishlist for a Shopify store. We checked guest saving, multiple lists, variant saving, sharing, price drop and stock alerts, reports, plan caps, trial length, and the fine print on what happens when you pass a limit or try to downgrade. We compared those facts against the jobs growing brands actually run, such as payday saves, gift lists, size and color saves for later, and bringing a shopper back when a saved item returns to stock. We did not use review sites or competitor listicles, we made no testing claim of any kind, and we gave no numeric product scores. Where a vendor does not publish a price for a plan type, we say so in plain words rather than guessing. We dropped Growave from this list because its pricing reads as a wider loyalty and retention suite rather than a wishlist first app, and this article is for stores shopping for a wishlist.

Pick this shortlist if your bottleneck is lost intent, not traffic. If shoppers browse, love a product, and then vanish because there is no easy way to save it, a good wishlist app should lift return visits and AOV while keeping your discount habit and your return rate under control.

See The six apps we compared pricing

1. Swym Wishlist Plus

Best for: Growing brands that want published quotas, save for later, and reports they can plan around.

We reviewed Swym first because its help center lays out the full pricing structure in one place. The vendor lists Starter at $29.99 per month for 3,000 monthly wishlist actions and 15,000 lifetime stored items, Pro at $59.99 per month for 10,000 actions and 50,000 lifetime items, and Premium at $99.99 per month for 25,000 actions and 125,000 lifetime items, with a 30 day free trial on paid plans (Source: Wishlist Plus Pricing and Features, Swym Help Center). Every paid plan includes add to wishlist from product pages, collections, and quick view, save for later from the cart, Smart Save prompts, multiple wishlists, and detailed reports and analytics, per the same help page (Source: Wishlist Plus Pricing and Features, Swym Help Center). The listing confirms support is provided by Swym Corporation (Source: Swym Wishlist Plus listing).

Pros

Cons

Pricing: Starter $29.99/month, Pro $59.99/month, Premium $99.99/month, Enterprise custom, 30 day free trial on paid plans, checked 6 November 2026. Pricing page: https://help.getswym.com/en/articles/11959983-wishlist-plus-pricing-features

Skip it if: Your wishlist volume is small and steady. A flat $4.99 or $5.99 plan further down this list will cover simple saving for a fraction of the fee.

Unique detail: Quotas cannot be bought as add ons. The help page says plainly that if you approach your monthly limit you must upgrade to the next tier, and Swym notifies you at 50 percent, 75 percent, 90 percent, and 100 percent of usage (Source: Wishlist Plus Pricing and Features, Swym Help Center).

Fits: Growing to larger brands doing steady wishlist volume, roughly from a few thousand saves a month upward, where reports and alerts earn back the higher fee in repeat orders.

Pick this if predictable scale matters more than the lowest fee. For a growing brand, a paused wishlist in a peak week costs more than the upgrade would have.

2. Wishlist - Wishify

Best for: Small and early growing stores that want to start free and pay a small first step for guest saving and sharing.

We compared Wishify because its listing publishes a simple four step ladder. The free plan allows up to 100 wishlist items per month for the store, with button color and text customization and a wishlist page in the main menu (Source: Wishify listing). Professional at $5.99 per month raises the cap to 1,000 wishlist items per month and adds share wishlist, a widget on collection pages, guest wishlist, export data, a heart icon in the header, and app color customization (Source: Wishify listing). Premium at $12.99 per month allows up to 3,000 wishlist items per month with full reports, and Advanced at $29.99 per month allows up to 10,000 wishlist items per month with automatic wishlist reminder messages, per the listing pricing (Source: Wishify listing). The listing also says guest wishlist is available so every visitor can save items and shop later (Source: Wishify listing).

Pros

  • A real free plan to prove saving behavior before you pay, with the wishlist page placed in your main menu.
  • The first paid step is only $5.99 per month and it is the step that unlocks guest wishlist, sharing, and the collection page widget (Source: Wishify listing).
  • Clear item caps at every tier, so a store can watch saves per month the same way it watches orders per month.

Cons

  • The free plan caps the whole store at 100 wishlist items per month and does not include guest wishlist or sharing, which sit on Professional, per the listing pricing table (Source: Wishify listing).
  • Automatic wishlist reminder messages are an Advanced feature at $29.99 per month, so the two cheaper paid plans save items without the built in nudge back (Source: Wishify listing).
  • Full reports wait until Premium at $12.99 per month, so Professional stores get saving and sharing before they get the full reporting view (Source: Wishify listing).

Pricing: Free plan available. Professional $5.99/month, Premium $12.99/month, Advanced $29.99/month, 7 day free trial on paid plans, checked 6 November 2026. Pricing page: https://apps.shopify.com/wishlist-wishify

Skip it if: You need automatic reminders from day one, or your store already saves well over 10,000 items a month and needs a higher published cap.

Unique detail: The free plan is the only plan in this comparison whose own pricing list advertises free app setup as a named feature, worded as Only FREE app setup on the listing (Source: Wishify listing).

Fits: Small to growing stores from first saves up to 10,000 wishlist items a month on the top plan, especially lean teams that want a low fixed fee while AOV is still building.

Pick this if you want the calm budget path. Start free, pay $5.99 when guests need to save, and let real save volume tell you when to climb.

3. Wishlist Guru: Favorites List

Best for: Stores selling across languages, and gift or B2B stores that need alerts and list sharing in one wishlist app.

We checked Wishlist Guru because its listing leads with breadth. The vendor says shoppers can save favorites, create multiple wishlists or gift lists, and share through social channels, with automated back in stock, price drop, and low stock alerts, plus multilingual templates and preferred language settings for alerts (Source: Wishlist Guru listing). The listing names analytics, reports, drawer mode, B2B settings, and REST APIs among its features, and lists Shopify Flow and Klaviyo among the tools it works with (Source: Wishlist Guru listing). Its pricing lists a free forever plan with up to 300 wishlist items per month, Basic at $5.99 per month, Pro at $12.99 per month with 5,000 wishlist items per month, and Premium at $19.99 per month, with a 10 day free trial on paid plans and annual options that save 17 percent (Source: Wishlist Guru listing). Its listing puts Basic at up to 2,000 wishlist items per month and Premium as the unlimited tier with multi wishlist and variant support (Source: Wishlist Guru listing).

Pros

  • Multilingual wishlist pages and alert templates suit cross border stores where a saved item needs to make sense in the shopper language (Source: Wishlist Guru listing).
  • Price drop, back in stock, and low stock alerts are core to the pitch, which helps sell through on saved seasonal stock instead of discounting blind (Source: Wishlist Guru listing).
  • The top plan is $19.99 per month, the lowest unlimited step in this list, per its listing (Source: Wishlist Guru listing).

Cons

  • Multi wishlist and variant support sit on Premium at $19.99 per month, per its listing, so Basic and Pro stores run a simpler single list setup (Source: Wishlist Guru listing).
  • The free plan caps the store at 300 wishlist items per month, so a gift season spike can push a small store onto a paid plan mid campaign (Source: Wishlist Guru listing).
  • The paid trial is 10 days, the shortest trial in this comparison, so you have less time to test a full save and return cycle before paying (Source: Wishlist Guru listing).

Pricing: Free plan available. Basic $5.99/month, Pro $12.99/month, Premium $19.99/month, 10 day free trial on paid plans, checked 6 November 2026. Pricing page: https://apps.shopify.com/wishlist-guru

Skip it if: You sell in one language to one market and will never use gift lists, B2B settings, or variant saving. A simpler flat plan will feel lighter.

Unique detail: The listing pricing states that all plans are free for development stores, so a partner build can run any tier at no charge before launch (Source: Wishlist Guru listing).

Fits: Growing stores with international traffic or gift led ranges, roughly from a few hundred to several thousand saves a month, moving to unlimited on Premium as volume builds.

Pick this if language and gift lists drive your saves. It is the widest feature set here for under $20 a month at the top.

4. Hulk Advanced Wishlist

Best for: Stores that want guest saving, variant saving, sharing, and analytics, with headroom to unlimited items on the top plan.

We reviewed Hulk because HulkApps publishes its wishlist pricing and feature set on its own site. The vendor describes a feature rich wishlist that is compliant with WCAG standards, with product variant support, guest wishlist, wishlist sharing on social channels, links, or direct messages, analytical insights, and integration with Shopify Flow, Klaviyo, and Google Analytics (Source: HulkApps on Hulk Advanced Wishlist). Its pricing structure lists a Development plan that is free for partner development stores, Starter at $4.90 per month with 1,000 wishlist items and public or guest wishlist, Pro+ at $29.90 per month with up to 50,000 wishlist items and advanced sharing, and Ultimate at $49.90 per month with unlimited wishlist capabilities (Source: HulkApps on Hulk Advanced Wishlist). The current Shopify listing runs under the name Hulk AI Wishlist and Favorites and describes one click setup, a customizable wishlist page, sharing, gift and guest lists, and import of wishlist data (Source: Hulk AI Wishlist and Favorites listing).

Pros

  • Variant support means a shopper saves the exact size or color, which cuts wrong variant orders and the returns that follow (Source: HulkApps on Hulk Advanced Wishlist).
  • A wide middle step. Pro+ at $29.90 per month covers up to 50,000 wishlist items, a much larger allowance than the mid tiers elsewhere in this list (Source: HulkApps on Hulk Advanced Wishlist).
  • Sharing and analytics sit in the core pitch, so gift lists can travel and you can still see which saved products pull demand (Source: HulkApps on Hulk Advanced Wishlist).

Cons

  • There is no free plan for a live store. The free Development plan is for partner development stores only, so a live shop starts at $4.90 per month (Source: HulkApps on Hulk Advanced Wishlist).
  • The jump from Starter to Pro+ is steep, from $4.90 per month to $29.90 per month, with no published step in between on the vendor pricing structure we checked (Source: HulkApps on Hulk Advanced Wishlist).
  • Multiple wishlists are a switch you have to turn on. The vendor FAQ says to activate the feature under Settings and then General Settings, so it is not on by default (Source: HulkApps Advanced Wishlist product page).

Pricing: Development free for partner development stores. Starter $4.90/month, Pro+ $29.90/month, Ultimate $49.90/month, checked 6 November 2026. Pricing page: https://www.hulkapps.com/products/shopify-simplify-my-login-app-integration/ and https://apps.shopify.com/my-wishlist-share-remind

Skip it if: You want a free live plan to test saving first, or you sit between 1,000 and 50,000 items and resent paying the Pro+ jump for headroom you may not use.

Unique detail: The vendor product page explains that if you pass your plan limit the app pauses until you upgrade, but your wishlist data stays intact and accessible, and the wishlist buttons still show on the store even though shoppers cannot view their saved items in that paused state (Source: HulkApps Advanced Wishlist product page).

Fits: Growing stores from around 1,000 saves a month up to very high volume on Ultimate, especially apparel and gift stores where variant accuracy protects return rate.

Pick this if variants and sharing do the heavy lifting in your store. The Pro+ allowance is the roomiest mid price cap we checked.

5. Wishlist Hero

Best for: Stores that want a generous free tier and a low $4 first paid step while they learn how shoppers save.

We compared Wishlist Hero because its listing gives the largest free allowance in this article. The free plan covers up to 500 wishlist additions per month, Silver at $4 per month covers up to 1,000 additions per month, Gold Plus at $17 per month covers up to 5,000 additions per month, and Platinum at $29 per month covers up to 10,000 additions per month, each paid plan with a 14 day free trial (Source: Wishlist Hero listing). The listing summary highlights guest wishlists, dedicated wishlist pages, real time item counts, and confirmation popups, plus strong customization for icons, buttons, layouts, and placement (Source: Wishlist Hero listing). Support is provided by Revamp, per the listing (Source: Wishlist Hero listing).

Pros

  • Free up to 500 wishlist additions per month, five times the Wishify free cap, so a growing store gets a longer free runway (Source: Wishlist Hero listing).
  • The cheapest paid step in this list at $4 per month, which keeps fees tiny while you prove that saves turn into orders (Source: Wishlist Hero listing).
  • Real time item counts and confirmation popups give shoppers clear feedback that a save worked, which supports repeat saving (Source: Wishlist Hero listing).

Cons

  • Every plan is capped, including Platinum at 10,000 wishlist additions per month, and the listing shows no unlimited tier above it (Source: Wishlist Hero listing).
  • The price ladder jumps hard in the middle, from $4 per month on Silver to $17 per month on Gold Plus, so crossing 1,000 additions a month more than quadruples the fee (Source: Wishlist Hero listing).
  • Charges are billed in USD every 30 days per the listing, so non US stores should budget for that billing currency (Source: Wishlist Hero listing).

Pricing: Free plan available. Silver $4/month, Gold Plus $17/month, Platinum $29/month, 14 day free trial on paid plans, checked 6 November 2026. Pricing page: https://apps.shopify.com/wishlist-hero

Skip it if: Your store already saves more than 10,000 items a month. You need a published unlimited or higher cap tier, which this listing does not offer.

Unique detail: Wishlist Hero counts usage as wishlist additions per month rather than stored items, and its free plan allowance of 500 additions per month is stated right in the listing pricing, not buried in a help doc (Source: Wishlist Hero listing).

Fits: Small to growing stores from first saves up to 10,000 additions a month, where keeping the app fee near zero while AOV builds matters most.

Pick this if free runway is the priority. No other pick here lets you learn your save rate for longer at no cost.

6. Smart Wishlist

Best for: Stores that want one simple flat plan, one click guest saving, and a long 60 day window to judge the fit.

We checked Smart Wishlist because its listing takes the opposite approach to a plan ladder. The vendor describes it as a wishlist that enables customers to create wishlists in one click, even without login, with no coding required for setup (Source: Smart Wishlist listing). The listing lists a wishlist button on product, collection, search result, and cart pages, says both guests and logged in users can quickly create and share wishlists, promises unlimited wishlists, and offers JavaScript and REST APIs for advanced requirements (Source: Smart Wishlist listing). Pricing on the listing is a single Standard plan at $4.99 per month with a 60 day free trial, billed in USD every 30 days (Source: Smart Wishlist listing).

Pros

  • One plan and one price at $4.99 per month, so there is no tier homework and no feature unlock puzzle (Source: Smart Wishlist listing).
  • The longest trial in this list at 60 days, enough time to watch a full payday cycle of saves turning into orders (Source: Smart Wishlist listing).
  • A lightweight build. The listing highlights a lightweight payload and says the app does not break your theme upon uninstall (Source: Smart Wishlist listing).

Cons

  • No free plan. After the 60 day free trial, every live store pays $4.99 per month, even for a handful of saves (Source: Smart Wishlist listing).
  • A single tier cuts both ways. There is no higher published tier to grow into for extra limits or priority handling, because the listing publishes one Standard plan only (Source: Smart Wishlist listing).
  • Custom theme help needs account access. In a vendor reply on the listing, Webmarked says the app does not automatically inject anything into theme code and that manual customization happens only after receiving collaborator account access (Source: Smart Wishlist listing).

Pricing: Standard $4.99/month, no free plan, 60 day free trial, checked 6 November 2026. Pricing page: https://apps.shopify.com/smart-wishlist

Skip it if: You want a free plan that runs forever at low volume, or you need published plan tiers with reports and alert depth as you scale.

Unique detail: Since January 2024 the app no longer requires permission to edit themes, per a vendor reply on its own listing, which is a fine print setup change that older install guides will not mention (Source: Smart Wishlist listing).

Fits: Small to mid size stores with steady, simple saving needs, roughly tens to a few thousand saves a month, that value a flat fee and a long trial over a feature ladder.

Pick this if simple beats sprawling. One button, one price, and two full months to decide if your shoppers actually save.

Questions buyers ask first

Do you need guest wishlists, or will account wishlists do?

Choose guest saving if most of your traffic is new or mobile, because forcing an account before a save loses the payday and gift shoppers you most want back. Choose account only saving if your repeat buyers already log in and you want every saved list tied to a known customer from the start.

How do wishlist caps actually work when you grow?

Caps differ by vendor, so read the unit, not just the number. Swym counts monthly wishlist actions plus a separate lifetime stored items limit and pauses storefront wishlist functions past the monthly cap, while Wishify, Wishlist Guru, and Wishlist Hero count items or additions per month with no lifetime pool in their listing pricing (Source: Wishlist Plus Pricing and Features, Swym Help Center) (Source: Wishify listing).

What should a wishlist do for AOV and return rate, not just saves?

A good wishlist should turn saved intent into full price orders, by bringing shoppers back for the exact variant they saved when it is in stock and fairly priced. Track save to order rate, AOV on wishlist orders, and return rate on saved variant orders, because variant accurate saves should cut wrong size and wrong color returns.

When does a free wishlist plan stop being enough?

A free plan stops being enough when the feature that earns money sits on a paid tier, such as guest saving on Wishify Professional or automatic reminders on Wishify Advanced (Source: Wishify listing). It also stops being enough when your monthly saves pass the free cap, which arrives at just 100 items a month on Wishify free and 300 items a month on Wishlist Guru free (Source: Wishlist Guru listing).

Buyers guide

  • Count your likely saves first. Estimate saves per month from product page traffic, then match that number to the cap unit each vendor uses, actions, items, or additions.
  • Test the guest flow on a phone. Save as a logged out shopper, leave, come back, and confirm the list is still there and easy to buy from.
  • Check what happens past the cap. Some apps pause wishlist functions until reset or upgrade, so know the behavior before a sale weekend, not during it.
  • Save a variant, not just a product. Confirm the exact size and color survive the save, because that detail protects AOV and return rate.
  • Check the Shopify Plus price and the downgrade rules. Swym makes Pro the minimum for Plus stores, and a downgrade can be blocked if your lifetime stored items already pass the lower plan limit (Source: Wishlist Plus Pricing and Features, Swym Help Center).
  • Use the full trial window. Build one best seller flow, run real saves, and watch save to order behavior before the trial ends, especially on the 7 day and 10 day trials.
  • Browse the other hubs on this site only where they help the same store, such as inventory and order management and marketplace seller tools, so your wishlist choice fits the rest of your stack.

Frequently asked questions

How many apps are in this comparison?

We compared exactly six apps in this article, and each one is a wishlist first app for Shopify. The six are Swym Wishlist Plus, Wishify, Wishlist Guru, Hulk Advanced Wishlist, Wishlist Hero, and Smart Wishlist.

What is the cheapest way to start a wishlist on Shopify?

The cheapest start is a free plan. Wishlist Hero free covers up to 500 wishlist additions per month, Wishlist Guru free covers up to 300 items per month, and Wishify free covers up to 100 items per month, all checked 6 November 2026 on their listings.

Do wishlist apps charge when a shopper removes an item?

It depends on the counting unit. Swym states that a wishlist action is counted on each add, including Smart Save and save for later adds, and removing an item does not decrease the count (Source: Wishlist Plus Pricing and Features, Swym Help Center).

Can a wishlist app bring shoppers back without a discount?

Yes, if it saves the exact product and variant and alerts the shopper when that item drops in price or returns to stock, the reason to return is the product itself. Watch save to order rate at full price to prove it in your own store.

What should I test in the trial window?

Save as a guest on mobile, save a specific variant, share a list, and place a test order from the wishlist. Then check your save count against the plan cap and confirm the wishlist still works the way your shoppers will use it in a busy week.
