Top picks at a glance

Ranked in order. Each row names what the pick is best for, with no score attached.

  • Four of the five apps here start free, but the free plans cap different things. BSS and Sami cap features and rules, while SparkLayer caps the free plan at 5 B2B orders per month and 3 price lists (Source: SparkLayer plans and features).
  • Customer specific pricing is rarely on the first paid tier. BSS places customer specific custom pricing on Advanced at $49 per month, and B2B Wholesale Hub places custom prices on its $69 per month plan (Source: BSS B2B pricing plans and details).
  • Volume discounts can hide at the top of the ladder. Wholesale Gorilla keeps volume discounts on Premium at $149.95 per month, more than four times its entry price (Source: Wholesale Gorilla listing).
  • Add ons change the real price. SparkLayer charges $49 per month for its Quoting Engine on Starter and Growth and $39 per month per extra sales rep, while BSS sells extras such as its Invoice PDF add on at $12 per month (Source: SparkLayer plans and features).
  • Clean wholesale pricing protects margin and AOV at once. The right price list per account stops discount leakage to retail shoppers and rewards the order sizes you actually want.

How we choose

How we choose

We reviewed vendor pricing pages, vendor documentation, and Shopify App Store listings written by the vendors, and we compared only apps whose main job is B2B and wholesale pricing on Shopify. We checked price list depth, tiered and volume discounts, quantity breaks, minimum order rules, registration and approval flows, tax display and tax exempt handling, sales rep and quick order features, and the fine print on order caps and paid add ons. We compared those facts against the jobs wholesale stores actually run, such as giving each retailer its own prices, rewarding case quantities without giving away margin, and keeping retail shoppers away from wholesale rates. We compared pricing features only, and we left out any app whose main pitch is credit or financing rather than pricing. We did not use review sites or competitor listicles, we made no testing claim of any kind, and we gave no numeric product scores. Where a vendor does not publish a price for a store type, we say so in plain words rather than guessing.

Pick this shortlist if wholesale orders still arrive by email and spreadsheet. Moving those accounts onto priced, self serve ordering protects your margin on every case and frees your team from retyping price lists.

See The five apps we compared pricing

1. BSS B2B Wholesale Solution

Best for: Wholesale stores that want the deepest pricing rule set at the lowest ladder prices in this comparison.

We reviewed BSS first because BSS Commerce publishes its full plan detail in its own documentation. The docs list a Free plan at $0, Essentials at $29 per month, Advanced at $49 per month, and Platinum at $99 per month, with yearly billing saving 10 percent (Source: BSS B2B pricing plans and details). The same documentation describes custom price lists, tiered and volume discounts, quantity breaks, minimum order quantities and order limits, tax exempt rules on paid plans, and VAT support, with customer specific custom pricing on Advanced and variant level wholesale prices, per customer price lists, and ERP sync APIs on Platinum (Source: BSS B2B pricing plans and details). Its App Store listing presents the same wholesale solution for Shopify stores (Source: BSS B2B Wholesale Solution listing).

Pros

  • The ladder is low and published in full, from free to $99 per month, so a store can budget the whole journey before it starts (Source: BSS B2B pricing plans and details).
  • Quantity breaks and minimum order rules sit inside the pricing feature set, which protects margin on small wholesale orders.
  • Yearly billing saves 10 percent, a real saving on a tool a wholesale store will keep for years (Source: BSS B2B pricing plans and details).

Cons

  • Tax exempt rules are a paid plan feature, so the free plan cannot run a tax exempt wholesale checkout (Source: BSS B2B pricing plans and details).
  • Customer specific custom pricing waits until Advanced at $49 per month, so per account negotiated prices cost a tier more than the headline $29 (Source: BSS B2B pricing plans and details).
  • The documentation lists paid add ons on top of plan prices, including an Invoice PDF add on at $12 per month, so the true bill can sit above the plan ladder (Source: BSS B2B pricing plans and details).

Pricing: Free plan available. Essentials $29/month, Advanced $49/month, Platinum $99/month, checked 6 November 2026. Pricing page: https://docs.bss-b2b.solutions/b2b-solution/use-cases-and-faqs/pricing-plans-and-details/

Skip it if: You want a sales rep ordering portal as the center of your wholesale operation, or your price lists must sync from an ERP on a mid tier budget, since ERP sync APIs sit on Platinum.

Unique detail: The vendor pricing documentation itemizes optional add ons with their own monthly prices, such as Invoice PDF at $12 per month, which lets you build your true total before you install (Source: BSS B2B pricing plans and details).

Fits: Small to mid size wholesale stores, from a first handful of trade accounts to several hundred B2B orders a month, with price lists that grow more specific over time.

Pick this if pricing depth per dollar is the deciding factor. No other ladder here reaches variant level, per customer pricing this cheaply.

2. Sami B2B Wholesale Pricing

Best for: Hybrid stores that sell retail and wholesale from one storefront and want the cheapest useful paid tier in this list.

We compared Sami because Samita publishes a detailed pricing page of its own. The page lists a Free plan at $0 with unlimited wholesale pricing rules capped at up to 100 products per rule, 1 registration form, 1 volume discount rule, unlimited B2B catalogs, and manual or auto tag approval (Source: Sami B2B Wholesale Pricing pricing page). Silver at $24.90 per month adds unlimited products per rule, unlimited volume pricing rules, unlimited registration forms, a quick order form, and Shopify Markets support, while Gold at $49.90 per month adds minimum and maximum order limits, custom shipping rate rules, extra fees, tax display and tax exempt customers, and Shopify POS integration (Source: Sami B2B Wholesale Pricing pricing page). Paid plans carry a 14 day free trial per the same page.

Pros

  • Silver at $24.90 per month is the cheapest paid tier in this comparison and already includes unlimited pricing and volume rules (Source: Sami B2B Wholesale Pricing pricing page).
  • The free plan includes unlimited B2B catalogs and a registration form with tag based approval, so onboarding trade accounts costs nothing to start (Source: Sami B2B Wholesale Pricing pricing page).
  • Quick order forms arrive on Silver rather than a top tier, which helps repeat wholesale buyers reorder cases fast.

Cons

  • The free plan caps each pricing rule at up to 100 products and allows only 1 volume discount rule, so wide catalogs outgrow it quickly (Source: Sami B2B Wholesale Pricing pricing page).
  • Order limits, custom shipping rules, extra fees, and tax display all wait for Gold at $49.90 per month, double the Silver price (Source: Sami B2B Wholesale Pricing pricing page).
  • The vendor pricing page is currently running an Early Bird promotion, 50 percent off the first 3 months on monthly plans, ending 20 November UTC, so budget at the full $24.90 and $49.90 rates rather than the discounted figures (Source: Sami B2B Wholesale Pricing pricing page).

Pricing: Free plan available. Silver $24.90/month, Gold $49.90/month, checked 6 November 2026. Pricing page: https://samita.io/pages/sami-b2b-wholesale-pricing

Skip it if: You need order limits and tax display from day one on a tight budget, or your catalog needs bulk import and export of pricing rules on a lower tier, since the vendor table places bulk import and export on Gold.

Unique detail: The vendor pricing table shows bulk import and export of wholesale pricing rules only on the Gold plan, a fine print placement that matters to any store migrating hundreds of prices from a spreadsheet (Source: Sami B2B Wholesale Pricing pricing page).

Fits: Small hybrid stores, from a few trade accounts to a few hundred B2B orders a month, that want retail and wholesale in one store without a second storefront.

Pick this if budget leads and your wholesale rules are simple. Silver covers the core pricing jobs for less than any rival paid tier here.

3. SparkLayer

Best for: Brands that want a complete B2B ordering layer, with unlimited price lists and a sales rep portal, on a standard Shopify plan.

We checked SparkLayer because its documentation publishes the clearest plan table in this group. The docs list Basic free with 5 B2B orders per month, 3 price lists, and no sales agents, Starter at $49 per month with 50 orders and unlimited price lists, Growth at $149 per month with 100 orders, Pro at $299 per month with 150 orders, and Enterprise from $499 per month, with a 14 day free trial on paid plans (Source: SparkLayer plans and features). The same docs confirm customer specific pricing, pack sizes, and minimum and maximum quantities on every plan, and note that the free Basic plan is available on Shopify only (Source: SparkLayer plans and features). Its App Store listing presents the same B2B solution for Shopify stores (Source: SparkLayer listing).

Pros

  • Unlimited price lists start on Starter at $49 per month, so account count never drives the bill (Source: SparkLayer plans and features).
  • Pack sizes and minimum and maximum quantities are included on every plan, even free, which protects case economics from day one (Source: SparkLayer plans and features).
  • Sales rep ordering starts on Starter, so reps can place orders at each account own prices without spreadsheet workarounds.

Cons

  • Paid plans cap B2B orders per month, at 50 on Starter, 100 on Growth, and 150 on Pro, and the docs state that cancelled or refunded orders still count toward the allowance (Source: SparkLayer plans and features).
  • The Quoting Engine is a $49 per month add on for Starter and Growth and only included on Pro, and each extra sales rep costs $39 per month (Source: SparkLayer plans and features).
  • API and ERP integrations wait for Pro at $299 per month, so a store that needs its price lists synced from a back office system faces the top of the ladder (Source: SparkLayer plans and features).

Pricing: Free plan available on Shopify. Starter $49/month, Growth $149/month, Pro $299/month, Enterprise from $499/month, checked 6 November 2026. Pricing page: https://docs.sparklayer.io/help/plans-and-features

Skip it if: Your B2B order count is high relative to order value, since the monthly order caps will push you up the ladder faster than any rival here.

Unique detail: The docs state that going over your order allowance blocks nothing. SparkLayer keeps working, the plan card shows Over limit, and the vendor team gets in touch about a better fitting plan (Source: SparkLayer plans and features).

Fits: Growing wholesale brands doing up to 150 B2B orders a month on self serve tiers, especially brands with sales reps who order on behalf of accounts.

Pick this if wholesale is becoming a channel, not a side line. The ordering layer and rep portal are built for that step up.

4. Wholesale Gorilla

Best for: Stores that want unlimited pricing rules and customer pricing groups from the entry plan, with no rule caps to track.

We reviewed Wholesale Gorilla because its ladder is built around pricing groups rather than feature slices. Its listing prices Lite at $34.95 per month with unlimited pricing rules, unlimited customer pricing groups, a basic registration form, and manual orders, Advanced at $69.95 per month adding a quick order form, wholesale shipping rules, product hiding, discount codes, order limits, and CSV price upload, and Premium at $149.95 per month adding volume discounts, store and page locks, a customizable signup form, and priority support, checked 6 November 2026 (Source: Wholesale Gorilla listing). The listing shows a 21 day free trial, the longest trial in this comparison, with the free option limited to development stores (Source: Wholesale Gorilla listing).

Pros

  • Unlimited pricing rules and unlimited customer pricing groups start on Lite, so growing account lists never trigger a rule cap (Source: Wholesale Gorilla listing).
  • The 21 day free trial gives a full three weeks to migrate real price lists and test real accounts (Source: Wholesale Gorilla listing).
  • CSV price upload on Advanced suits stores whose wholesale prices already live in spreadsheets.

Cons

  • Volume discounts are gated to Premium at $149.95 per month, more than four times the Lite price, so quantity break pricing is the most expensive step in this comparison (Source: Wholesale Gorilla listing).
  • There is no free plan for live stores. Free use is limited to development stores, so a live store pays from day one after the trial (Source: Wholesale Gorilla listing).
  • The quick order form waits for Advanced at $69.95 per month, so Lite stores take wholesale orders through standard product pages.

Pricing: Lite $34.95/month, Advanced $69.95/month, Premium $149.95/month, 21 day free trial, checked 6 November 2026. Pricing page: https://apps.shopify.com/wholesale-gorilla

Skip it if: Tiered volume discounts are the core of your wholesale offer and $149.95 per month breaks the business case, or you want a free live plan while you recruit your first accounts.

Unique detail: The free trial runs 21 days rather than the 14 days offered by Sami, SparkLayer, and B2B Wholesale Hub, which gives a migration project a genuinely longer runway (Source: Wholesale Gorilla listing).

Fits: Small to mid size wholesale stores with many accounts in a few pricing groups, from dozens to several hundred B2B orders a month.

Pick this if pricing groups, not price lists per account, match how you sell. The unlimited rules model keeps things simple as accounts multiply.

5. B2B Wholesale Hub by Orbit

Best for: Stores with a short, stable list of wholesale accounts that want tag based pricing and order minimums in a long running app.

We checked B2B Wholesale Hub, the app formerly known as Wholesale Club and now run by Orbit, because its vendor page publishes a clean three tier ladder. The page prices Basic at $39 per month with account tagging, discounts, extra fee options, free shipping options, order minimums, a quick order form, and manual orders, a Pro plan at $69 per month adding custom prices and volume discounts, and Premium at $99 per month adding product visibility and priority support, with annual billing saving 10 percent (Source: B2B Wholesale Hub vendor page). The App Store listing notes the app launched on 6 January 2015 and describes tag based wholesale pricing with member only prices after login (Source: B2B Wholesale Hub listing).

Pros

  • Order minimums and a quick order form start on Basic at $39 per month, so the core wholesale jobs are covered at entry (Source: B2B Wholesale Hub vendor page).
  • Annual billing saves 10 percent across plans, with Basic at $420 per year, which suits a store that has settled its wholesale process (Source: B2B Wholesale Hub vendor page).
  • Tag based pricing keeps the model simple for a short account list, with member only prices shown after login per the listing (Source: B2B Wholesale Hub listing).

Cons

  • Custom prices wait for the $69 per month plan, since Basic is built around percentage discounts, so negotiated per account prices cost a tier more (Source: B2B Wholesale Hub vendor page).
  • Product visibility controls sit on Premium at $99 per month, so hiding wholesale products from retail shoppers costs the top tier (Source: B2B Wholesale Hub vendor page).
  • There is no free plan, only a 14 day free trial, so testing with live accounts runs against the clock from install.

Pricing: Basic $39/month, Pro $69/month, Premium $99/month, 14 day free trial, checked 6 November 2026. Pricing page: https://orbitapps.com/wholesale-hub/

Skip it if: Every account negotiates its own fixed price list and you need that on the entry tier, or you want ERP sync and a rep portal in the same app.

Unique detail: The listing shows a launch date of 6 January 2015, which makes this the longest running app in the comparison by a wide margin (Source: B2B Wholesale Hub listing).

Fits: Small wholesale stores with a short list of named accounts, from a handful of retailers to a few hundred B2B orders a month, that value a settled, simple tool.

Pick this if your wholesale list is short and stable. Tag, discount, minimum order, done, with a decade of history behind the app.

Questions buyers ask first

Can you run wholesale and retail pricing in one Shopify store?

Yes, and every app here is built for exactly that, using customer tags, accounts, or price lists to show wholesale prices only to approved buyers. Sami and BSS both describe running B2B and retail in one store, so a second storefront is rarely the right first step (Source: Sami B2B Wholesale Pricing pricing page).

Should wholesale prices be percentage discounts or fixed price lists?

Percentage discounts are faster to set up and suit accounts that all buy at one margin, while fixed price lists suit negotiated accounts and protect margin when retail prices change. B2B Wholesale Hub starts with percentage discounts on Basic and adds custom prices on its $69 plan, which mirrors how most stores evolve (Source: B2B Wholesale Hub vendor page).

How do minimum order quantities protect wholesale margin?

A minimum order quantity or order total stops small, expensive to serve orders from wiping out the wholesale discount, because picking, packing, and shipping one case costs nearly as much as shipping five. SparkLayer includes pack sizes and minimum and maximum quantities on every plan, and Sami adds order limits on Gold (Source: SparkLayer plans and features).

When does a free B2B pricing plan stop being enough?

A free plan stops being enough when the cap it sets, whether rules, products per rule, price lists, or monthly B2B orders, blocks how you actually sell. It also stops being enough when the feature that protects margin, such as customer specific prices, tax exempt handling, or order limits, sits on a paid tier in the app you picked.

Buyers guide

  • Map your accounts to pricing groups before you look at plans. The number of distinct price lists you truly need decides whether caps on rules or lists will bite.
  • Price one real account end to end. Apply its prices, a quantity break, and an order minimum, then check the cart and checkout totals against your spreadsheet.
  • Check where customer specific pricing unlocks. In this list it ranges from the first paid tier to the top of the ladder, and it is the feature most stores end up needing.
  • Check order caps against your busiest month, including cancelled and refunded orders where the vendor counts them, as SparkLayer docs state it does.
  • Check tax display and tax exempt handling for your wholesale buyers, since getting tax wrong on trade orders creates credit notes and support work.
  • Add the add ons to the plan price before you decide. Quoting engines, extra sales reps, and document add ons can lift the real bill well above the headline tier.
  • Browse the other hubs on this site only where they help the same store, such as inventory and order management and marketplace seller tools, so your B2B pricing choice fits the rest of your stack.

Frequently asked questions

How many products are in this comparison?

We compared exactly five apps in this article, and each one focuses on B2B and wholesale pricing for Shopify stores. The five are BSS B2B Wholesale Solution, Sami B2B Wholesale Pricing, SparkLayer, Wholesale Gorilla, and B2B Wholesale Hub by Orbit.

Do I need Shopify Plus to run wholesale pricing?

No. Every app here runs on standard Shopify plans, and SparkLayer states its free Basic plan is available on Shopify, with paid plans adding order allowance and sales agents (Source: SparkLayer plans and features).

What is the difference between a pricing group and a price list?

A pricing group applies one discount rule to every customer carrying a tag, which is the Wholesale Gorilla and B2B Wholesale Hub model. A price list sets specific prices per product for an account or group, which is where BSS and SparkLayer go deeper on their higher tiers.

Can these apps hide wholesale prices from retail shoppers?

Yes, through login and tag based access. B2B Wholesale Hub describes member only pricing after login, and its Premium plan adds product visibility controls at $99 per month (Source: B2B Wholesale Hub vendor page).

What should I test in the free trial window?

Set up one real wholesale account with its real prices, one quantity break, and one order minimum, then place a test order at retail and at wholesale in the same store. Check both prices, the tax display, and how the order reads for your fulfillment team.
